At Engage Education we have not only adhered to the processes and policies as governed by the DfES and REC (Recruitment & Employment Confederation) but we have also set a number of internal requirements of the standards we expect of our teachers.

They range from behavioural management skills, to lesson planning standards and providing up to date legislative changes that affect the role of a teacher as well as many more.

We pride ourselves in the calibre and professionalism of both our staff and teachers and never forget, the quality of our teachers is often the lasting impression of our agency.

The standard of our teachers is the result of our own experience, coupled with an understanding of the individual needs of each school.

We make a concerted effort to visit as many schools as possible to allow us to construct a picture of not only the teaching position, but the environment they will teach within.

In-depth interviews and screening

The majority of our candidates come from recommendations both in the UK and overseas and suitable candidates are interviewed, often in two stages.

Our consultants are a combination of ex-teachers and recruitment specialists who have to reach a high level of commercial experience before they achieve consultant level. All consultants have been trained in various interview techniques to deliver an in-depth interview and follow the company’s policies and procedures. They ascertain not only the teacher’s level of qualifications and experience, but furthermore the role that will suit their experience and career history best.

Approved documentation

Engage Education confirm that any documentation or authenticated copies of originals are photocopied and validated. All qualifications and references are checked and teachers are only employed if they have a UK recognised teaching degree. In addition the following will be required.

• Two professional teaching references
• Full teaching qualifications
• Identity Check x 2
• UK visa or right to work check
• Criminal Records Bureau ("Enhanced Disclosure" vetting with the CRB )
• List 99
• GTC Registration Check
• Health Check
• National Insurance Number Check
• All Teachers are issued with our Child Protection, Code of Practice and Equal Opportunities policies.
• Overseas trained teachers must produce a current clear Criminal Check from their home country.
